2015 is coming to a close.   It's time to put away the short sleeve polo shorts and break out the fleece, the heavy jackets, the gloves and Be Ready in case we get called up for an emergency in the winter season.

Also a reminder to the team to practice what we preach...   Make sure you have your go-kits up to date, your vehicles are winter ready, and your homes have adequate supplies to weather a winter storm, power outage, or both!

2015 was a really great year for the Pinelands CERT.    Time flew by but it sure was busy.   We had our biggest deployment yet with the whole county deploying to support Camden during the Pope visit, the usual array of our local township activities that we support, and a few emergencies like the June Storm.    The community deployments and the training exercises are excellent drills for when the real thing happens; we know how the ICS structure works, we know how to properly and safely gear up for an event, and we all have each others backs.

Team communication improved dramatically this year with PLC becoming part of the digital age.   We have our public website, a members only Facebook page, structured distribution emails with Constant Contact and good old fashioned monthly meetings to talk about what we've done, what we're doing, and what's next!

I am very proud to be a member of this team, and of each and every team member.  Thank you for your service.                             John Lyons
