Papal Visit to Philadelphia, Burlington County CERT Program Deployment

The Burlington County OEM would like to recognize and commend the seventy-three (73) Citizen Corps members who participated in the two (2) day deployment during the Papal visit on September 26th (Saturday) and September 27th (Sunday). This mission was very labor intense and required a tremendous amount of planning. During the event our members maintained a Staging/Check-In Area in Burlington County, provided logistical support at the Burlington County EOC and served as Good Will Ambassadors at the Camden City Waterfront; many worked multiple shifts and/or day
During this historical event our Citizen Corps members unselfishly represented the true meaning of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”. As soon as the call for assistance went out our members immediately stepped-up to the challenge. They conducted themselves in a professional manner and proudly represented Burlington County. From what I observed at this event, I am very confident that our leadership and members will function admirably regardless of whatever situation may arise.
